Small Bowel Obstruction or Small Intestinal Obstruction is a common emergency condition of the abdomen that requires hospitalization and surgery.
Intestine obstruction means block in intestinal passage due to the problems outside or inside the lumen.
Intestinal Obstruction Causes -

Treatment may be surgical or non surgical depending upon the cause, severity and response to nonsurgical treatment.
Intestinal Perforation is the commonest emergency condition requiring operation.

Spleenomegaly is an enlargement of the spleen. The spleen is an organ of the immune system and plays role in filtering and refining the blood cell functions. Spleenomegaly is common after infections, malaria and Kalaazar. These spleen rarely require operation. Spleenomegaly because of the haematological conditions like Thalaasemia, Haemolytic Anaemia, Luekemia ITP is not uncommon. Splenic cyst, Splenic abscess and injury to the Spleen causing continuous bleeding inside the abdomen are the common reasons for removal of the Spleen known as SPLEENECTOMY.
The Spleenectomy is done by Laparoscopic Spleenectomy or Open Surgery.
Polyp is tumour like elevation on the surface of the gastrointestinal tract. Polyp can be benign (non cancerous) and cancerous or the precursor of the cancer.
Common polyps found during endoscopy are
Gastric Polyps, Colon Polyps, Rectum Polyps, Gastric Polyps, Jejunal Polyp
Polyps Symptoms
Polyps detected incidentally during endoscopy without causing symptoms. Polyps can cause symptoms like Bleeding, Obstruction, Pain. Few polyps have a potential to turn into cancer.
Diagnosis is done by CECT Scan Abdomen Endoscopy Biopsy and Endoscopic Polypectomy and Endoscopic Ultrasound
Treatment depends upon the site size of the polyp and possibility of being cancerous or non cancerous.
