Jaundice is symptom of liver, bile duct  and red blood cell disease. This manifests in abnormal Liver Function Test (LFT), yellow eyes, yellow skin and dark yellow colored urine. Many people go for country remedies for jaundice and later land up in difficult problem.

Causes of Jaundice-

Viral hepatitis A, B, C and E will resolve in majority patients  with conservative treatment. 

Jaundice because of stones, tumours , narrowing and compression from outside needs evaluation and surgery or endoscopy. 

This jaundice will not resolve with medicines and cause can not be ascertained unless specialist evaluates. Delay in treatment will lead to detrimental effects on the health.

Diagnosis is done by CT scan MRI Scan and Tumour Markers AFP and rarely biopsy.

Treatment -

First thing is to establish the diagnosis of tumour.  Most of the benign tumours do not require surgery. But symptomatic and cancer need surgery.
